Announcing the Arrival of Multiplayer!
I am thrilled to announce the biggest update to Mage Guild yet - Multiplayer! Now you can duel with or team up with friends in turn-based spellcasting battles.
Key features in this update:
- Challenge your friends: Take all of the spells you have learned in singleplayer and put it to the test in a competitive multiplayer environment.
- Turn-based Strategy:
- Each player gets up to one minute to make their moves.
- Idle players will be kicked after a period of inactivity to keep matches running smoothly.
- New UI elements:
- Keep track of time left in turns with a countdown timer and turn indicators.
- Name tags displayed on summoned creatures and wizards display the nickname of that player.
- Leaderboard System: Displays the players who have defeated the largest number of other players on the multiplayer tab of the level selection screen.
- Additional Improvements:
- Spellbook entries now display the energy cost associated with them.
- Fixes for some bugs and crashes.
- Tweaks to the UI to adapt better to different screen sizes.
- Summoned creatures no longer able to cast spells on the same turn in which they are summoned while they gain their bearings on their new surroundings.
- Overlay message for displaying new turns, game over, and success adjusted to animate in and out rather than just appearing and disappearing.
